David Spade Milwaukee reviews
A bit disappointing
I regularly follow David Spade. I really love his humor, and think he is a great storyteller. I took my sister to the Oct. 13 show in Hampton, NH. She likes David Spade too, but doesn't follow his career like me. Having heard David not too long ago on Howard Stern, I am familiar with most of his material. This show was a rehash of a lot of his old stuff. While still entertaining, I wasn't hunched over in hysterics. I felt like he was just seeing what still works and what he should cut when he heads to Vegas with Ray Romano. Could've done without the second opening act, altho I realize he was there solely to get the crowd amped. First act was OK. Crowd just wanted Spade. He should've come out earlier and done more material. He has a ton of other older stuff he didn't touch, such as life growing up in Az., and his mom. That stuff is gold. All I all, we had a fun time, but I was expecting much more. I hope he comes back to Hampton Ballroom again. He owes that crowd another show. Still love him though. Just being tough on him because I am a huge fan of his.
